H2S Alive – (Certified by Enform)

AIM

The aim of this course is to provide all Petroleum Industry workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and respond to Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) emergencies.

  • H2S properties; initial response strategy
  • Respiratory Protective Equipment
  • Detection of H2S
  • Rescue Techniques and Rescue Breathing
  • Case Studies

Practical training will be conducted in the following subjects:

  • Self Contained Breathing Apparatus;
  • Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus, and
  • Gas Detection;
  • Rescue Techniques and Rescue Breathing

Duration

Eight (8) hours

Prerequisites

  • A registration form completed and submitted prior to course.
  • A statement of health form completed on the first day of the course.

Certification

  • Upon successful completion of a written examination and demonstration of the required skills, an Enform (formerly P.I.T.S.) H2S Certificate is issued. Valid for three (3) years.

Registration

Programs are scheduled based on minimum/maximum trainee registration requirements. This course is available separately as well as included in APTC's Entry-Level Floor Hand (Roughneck) Training Certificate Program.
